Barcelona turns pink for the Women's Fun Run

One of Barcelona’s most popular sporting events was held on Sunday 12 November: the Cursa de la Dona [Women’s Fun Run]. Barcelona’s streets were filled with women doing sport, with over 30,000 of them running through the city.
This year’s race was the13th edition of the event. Barcelona’s Women’s Fun Run also closed the 2017 ‘Women’s Race’ circuit, which consists of various events held throughout Spain.
The event was organised by Sport Life magazine, with the collaboration of Barcelona City Council. The participants covered a 7.8 km route. The race was won by the athlete Janeth Becerra, in a time of 29m 47s. Meritxell Soler and Silvia Segura took second and third places.
Once the race was over, participants had the chance to enjoy an aerobics festival.
