Memories of the Games at the Voluntaris 2000 exhibition
Exhibitions. From 2 to 25 July, association members who were volunteers during the Barcelona '92 Olympic and Paralympic Games are exhibiting articles from those Games, which are part of their private collection.
If there is one association that represents how successful the volunteers were during the Barcelona ’92 Olympic and Paralympic Games, it is the Voluntaris 2000 association, which has been serving the city for the 25 years since those Games. Members of this association have since made many of the city’s big events possible, including the Barcelona Zurich Marathon, the BCN Triathlon and the Mercè Fun Run, among many others.
And now, to celebrate the organisation’s 25th anniversary, they are holding an exhibition of articles from the Barcelona ’92 Games. They are all part of the private collection of association members, who are former Olympic and Paralympic volunteers. The exhibition is being shown at their social centre, at Carrer de Sant Honorat, 1-3. It will be open from 2 to 25 July, from 10 am to 7 pm (closing at 1 pm on the 25th).
Anyone who visits this free exhibition will be able to see articles that include an Olympic torch, a Paralympic torch, equipment, flags, medals, documents and even a Barcelona ’92 Trivial Pursuit. 75 square metres full of souvenirs from the Games, which left an indelible impression on the city.
