The Barcelona City International Water Polo Trophy recaptures the spirit of finals of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games

TICB. Wednesday 28 June sees the arrival of the 16th City of Barcelona International Water Polo Trophy. Spain and Italy will be facing each other, recapturing the spirit of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.

The 16th edition of the City of Barcelona International Water Polo Trophy (CBIWPT) kicks off this coming Wednesday, 28 June. To mark the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Barcelona Olympic Games, the CBIWPT will be playing host to the teams that took part in the finals of the 1992 Games.

Spain and Italy face one another at the Bernat Picornell Swimming Pools, the same place they were pitted against one another 25 years ago, at one of the most exciting finals in the history of sport.

The trophy is organised by the Catalan Swimming Federation and is part of the activities celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Barcelona Olympic Games. Admission to watch this match is free. Barcelona’s local residents will have a chance to see two of the greatest teams in the world of this sport. A true Water Polo festival.
