The La Mercè festival fun run commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games
Cursa de la Mercè. Throughout the year, various activities in the city have served to commemorate the Games which marvelled the world in 1992. The La Mercè fun run is no exception and will also pay tribute to them.
The 39th Cursa de la Mercè, like lots of this year’s sport events, will be taking part in the acts to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 1992 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which were held in Barcelona.
Although the city has historically been linked with sport, thanks to the Games Barcelona opened up the world and became a global sports capital. In the 25years since then, more and more people have filled the city’s streets with sport and the fun runs are the best example of that.
So, this year, the La Mercè festival fun run will pay tribute to the Games, with details on the shirts and lots more surprises that we’ll gradually be announcing. Keep your eyes peeled and we hope the spirit of Barcelona 1992 accompany you on the 39th Cursa de la Mercè!
