The legacy and impact of the Olympic Games, at the City and Olympic Movement series of talks

Talks. The City and Olympics Movement series will be back at 3 pm, on 26 October, as part of the 12th Olympic Forum, with a talk entitled "1992 Barcelona Games and City: Legacy and urban impact".

The “City and Olympic Movement” series is holding a new talk under the framework of the 12th Olympic Forum, which is taking place on 26 and 27 October at the Barcelona INEFC and commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Barcelona Games. Entitled “1992 Barcelona Games and City: Legacy and urban impact”, the talk will be given on the first day of the Forum, 26/10, starting at 3 pm in the events hall.

The talk will focus on the role of cities in the 21st century in developing big sports events, and in that regard paying tribute to Barcelona’s role during the Games, a city that was transformed from head to toe and capable of organising the world’s most important sports event with an unprecedented success.
It will open up discussions and debates on whether the city has to be put at the service of events or whether events have to be adapted to the needs of the city’s residents. Also taking part in the talk will be Enric Truñó, who was the Councillor for Sports at Barcelona City Council in 1992; and Lluís Miller, a member of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic-Organising Committee (COOB).
