The Nose Race sees off the year through sport and fun

Fun runs. It also be used for seeing off the commemorative events for the 25th anniversary of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic and Paralympic Games

Tuesday, 19 December saw the presentation of the 2017 Fisiocrem Nose Race, at the Olympic and Sports Museum. The presentation covered the race’s various parameters and explained some of the new developments that this year’s edition would be including. The Commissioner for Sports, Marta Carranza and the Chair of La Sansi, José Luís Blanco, were the central figures at the ceremony, which was led by the journalist Xavier Bonastre.

The 2017 Fisiocrem Nose Race takes place, as in previous years, on 31 December at 5.30 pm. This is a 10 km fun run, which sets off from Carrer Selva de Mar. It is also on the Challenge BCN 10K calendar. The race has been organised by the La Sansi Athletics Club. Commissioner Marta Carranza explained during the presentation that “given the pace people are signing up to this race, we think this year’s edition will see a record number of participants”. She also remarked that the Nose Race was “the nicest fun run on the Barcelona calendar”.

Meanwhile the new developments being introduced to this year’s race were also presented. The most notable, a LEDS tunnel which will be located 9.5 along the race, to treat the runners to a different and fun experience. The Chair of La Sansi, José Luís Blanco also said that “Nose Race day is a truly festive time. There will be drumming along the route.

Last year’s Fisiocrem Nose Race won the award for ‘Best News Year’s Eve in Spain’ and the organisers do intend to keep their guard up and continue offering runners the best services. In fact, this year’s event will include a fire show.

On the other hand, being the final sports event of the year, it is also the last 25th-anniversary event commemorating the 1992 Barcelona Olympic and Paralympic Games, which were widely celebrated this 2017.
