Biomarket

The Biomarket is a wholesale organic food market located in Mercabarna. It opened on 23 November 2020 and immediately became the largest organic wholesale market hall in Spain and southern Europe. This market appears as a response to the growing demand for organic produce in Catalonia and throughout Spain.

Té una superfície total de 8.900 m2 i 21 parades de venda majorista (16 parades de 131 m2 per a empreses majoristes, 2 de 130 m2 per a cooperatives agràries i 3 de 57 m2 per a empreses de multiproducte). Conté una zona per a la venda per part de persones productores individuals, així com parades de multiproducte (sense fruita i verdura) com llegums, o carn. També allotja una oficina del Consell Català de la Producció Agrària Ecològica (CCPAE) per garantir la certificació dels productes.

It has a total surface area of 8,900 m2 and 21 wholesale stalls (16 stalls of 131 m2 for wholesale companies, 2 of 130 m2 for agricultural cooperatives and 3 of 57 m2 for multi-product companies). It has an area for sales by individual producers, as well as multi-product stalls (without fruit and vegetables), such as pulses and meat. It also houses an office of the Catalan Council for Organic Agricultural Production (CCPAE) to guarantee the certification of products.
