MEMEX is a European RIA project (2019-2022, H2020) which promotes cohesion and social inclusion through collaborative tools that provide inclusive access to tangible and intangible cultural heritage. The project also facilitates meetings and interactions between communities at risk of social and cultural exclusion.
MEMEX is aimed at professionals from social and cultural organisations working with individuals in vulnerable situations whose access to various cultural opportunities is systematically blocked. The project has launched three pilots for analysing various expectations of displaced communities in several regions in Europe. One, in Paris, run by the Michael Culture and Dédale Association, focusses on residents of the Rosa Parks neighbourhood. Another pilot is being launched in Lisbon, run by Mapa Das Ideias, and focusses on first- and second-generation immigrant communities. The third pilot, in Barcelona, is run by the Interarts Foundation and focuses on the city's immigrant women.
