Philosopher and a Doctorate from the University of Fribourg

Patrice Meyer-Bisch is a philosopher, doctor from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) (The body of human rights. Indivisibility as a principle of interpretation and application of human rights), accredited in political ethics by the University of Strasbourg. He is currently president of the Diversity and Cultural Rights Observatory and coordinator of the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights and Democracy at the University of Fribourg. Until 2016 he was the coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Institute of Ethics and Human Rights (IIEDH) of the same University.

For more than 30 years, he has led the "Fribourg Group" whose work is dedicated to cultural rights, including their links with economic rights: fundamental research and investigations/actions, participatory analyses, in Europe and in Africa and Latin America; collaborations with UNESCO, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Council of Europe and Francophonie, United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG). Winner of the International Award 'UCLG – MEXICO CITY – Culture 21', category "personality" for work on cultural rights.
