Queralt Lahoz
Santa Coloma de Gramenet
Hip hop / Urbana / Flamenco

The young artist Queralt Lahoz learned to speak at home singing into her grandmother María’s ear, who asked her to sing couplets, flamenco and boleros. The year of her grandma’s birth, 1917, was what she named her first EP, a story of family roots through the women in her life. Simmered over a low heat, it mixes flamenco and urban sounds by tracing a connection between past, present and future; it channels influences of those such as Mala Rodríguez or Gata Cattana, and also contemporary artists such as Erykah Badu and Jorja Smith.
