Call for innovative ideas to generate shade in public spaces
The aim is to reduce the heat and protect people’s health against the effects of climate change. Projects can be submitted until 14 July and the winning solutions will be trialled in 2024.
Companies, start-ups, research centres, universities and associations can put forward projects with budgets of between 80,000 and 125,000 euros, with the winners to receive a subsidy of up to 80% of the cost, up to a maximum of 100,000 euros.
Projects can be put forward in three categories: conventional streets, children’s play areas and large spaces, such as public squares or avenues.
