Urban planning. This is the first stage in redeveloping the site of the old Sant Andreu barracks. When the second stage is complete, the park will cover 22,000 square metres and become the largest green space in the neighbourhood.

Sant Andreu unveils a 12,000 square-metre green space at the north end of Parc de les Casernes, between C/ Gran de Sant Andreu, C/ Palomar, C/ Torres i Bages and Pg de Santa Coloma.

This is the first stage in creating Parc d’Antoni Santiburcio since the City Council signed an agreement in December 2015 with the Zona Franca Consortium to restart the development of the area. When the second stage of the project is ready it will include a green space of 22,000 square metres, turning the park into the largest green space in the neighbourhood and a key piece in regreening the ciy.

The park will have an area with water features, including a fountain of with 13 channels and 234 jets to help create climate shelter spaces provided for in the Barcelona Climate Plan. Each outlet has LED lighting so water-and-light choreographies can be created that will play with the colours and height of the jets.
