Environment and sustainability. The new plan includes the conservation and maintenance of more than 5,800 square metres of greenery.

A new maintenance plan has been launched for 34 vertical gardens and gardened walls located at several points in the city. The project has a 550,000-euro budget and will help to improve 5,800 square metres of urban greenery.

Maintenance, conservation and improvement work will be carried out on the vertical gardens at least once a month, through elevation systems, enabling the cleaning, pruning and fertilising over every level of plants and check-ups of the watering system.

Gardened walls do not merely improve a façade’s aesthetic aspects but also strengthen the heating insulation of buildings and are a source of biodiversity in spaces that do not allow room for conventional gardens.
