Economic and social model

Given the trend towards increasing temperatures and changes in rainfall forecast for future climate scenarios, changes may be seen in consumption patterns and the availability of energy, water and food resources.

These point to a decrease in comfort in households due to high temperatures, both during the day and at night, while further complicating the way that families manage their finances. Special attention would, therefore, need to be paid to guaranteeing basic services and temperature comfort in the most vulnerable homes.

The groups most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change are homeless people and/or those living in poverty, the chronically ill and the elderly. An increase in migration caused by climate change is also predicted.
