Escolab Meets ICFO
We visit the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), a research centre dedicated to advancing the limits of knowledge in the fields of photonics, the science and technology of photons. We meet Marina Cunquero, a researcher specialising in optical microscopy who studies how neurons in the eye communicate with the aim of restoring the function of neurons in patients with certain types of blindness. Marina explains the microscopes they use and what they even make at the ICFO. We will also see the applications of the studies carried out at this centre, such as in the field of health, cybersecurity or the manufacture of new materials.
