A meeting is being organised to publicise the new municipal service for international talent, the key tool for those who want to come and live in Barcelona or have just moved in.

Next Thursday, 24 February, the first open meeting of the webinar will take place Get to know and recommend the Barcelona International Welcome Desk. In this case, it will be aimed especially at agents of the city’s talent ecosystem.

This service was launched last November, which facilitates the welcoming of and establishment in Barcelona of people who come to investcreate a strategic businessresearchstudy or work as highly qualified professionals. Its aim is to facilitate the arrival of these people so that they can develop their full professional and personal potential in the city.

To know the Barcelona International Welcome Desk can be interesting for all those Barcelona people who are in touch with international talent and who can recommend it to professionals who have arrived in the city. Barcelona City Council has launched several actions to familiarise these people with the service.

A first session open to the public

The online session on 24 February will be one of these actions. It will enable attendees to know in detail what is in offer in terms of dealing with red tape, advice and practical information of the Barcelona International Welcome Desk and there will be an open question and answer session with the people responsible for the service. This session is aimed at:

  • people in charge of human resources or responsible for recruitment teams for companies and organizations who hire foreign talent to work in Barcelona (multinationals, start-ups and SMEs operating internationally).
  • foreign chambers of commerce, incubators or science parks, which are related to companies that hire foreign talent.
  • representatives of service companies related to international mobility, such as law firms, management companies, relocation companies, financial institutions, consultants, etc.

To attend, fill out the registration form of the activity.

A service that responds to a demand and need

The first online session of this seminar was held in January, and in that case it was aimed at representatives of universities, business schools and research centres. It was attended by more than 90 representatives of the teams that welcome and hire teachers, researchers and students from other countries. This shows the interest of the key people involved in the international talent ecosystem in this service, and also the need to improve the care and support of the professionals who come to the city.
