The campaign for the 5th edition of the ICT Women Awards is now under way. The awards aim to promote and increase the presence of women in the field of technology, and recognise the role of those women already involved in the world of ICT. These awards foster equality in the building of the digital society.
The ICT Women Awards are organised by the Generalitat of Catalonia as part of the Dona TIC [ICT Women] plan, with the collaboration of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce’s Women, Business and Economy Observatory.
They have two main aims: to recognise women’s fundamental role in the field of new technologies and to offer children and adolescents role models which encourage them to study STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in the future.
Women can put themselves forward for one of the following seven categories: entrepreneur, professional, academic/research, popularisation, revelation, study and leading initiatives.
Candidates may submit their entries until 16 September 2019. The awards ceremony will be held to coincide with Ada Lovelace Day, on 8 October.
You can find more information on the terms and conditions of the awards, along with the registration form, here.
