Scientific Research Awards on Urban Challenges in the City of Barcelona 2020
Barcelona City Council promoted the Scientific Research Awards on Urban Challenges in the city of Barcelona 2020.
These awards were aimed at all members of the scientific community up to 40 years of age and from any branch of knowledge. The main objectives were to stimulate and strengthen young talent in Barcelona and to support innovative projects that rethink the city model in a global way.
Themes
The projects presented in the call served to address urban challenges in the era of covid, and were framed within one or more of the following themes in the context of the city of Barcelona and,/or the metropolitan area:
- Population density, public space and social welfare
- Social welfare in relation to housing and basic services
- Sustainable mobility of people and products
- Climate emergency and city
- Quality ageing, children and the city
- City and visitors
- New spaces and productive models in the city
- Sustainable food and the city
- Technology and improvement of public services
