Ajuntament de Barcelona

The Disseny Hub Barcelona is hosting a new edition of the OFFF festival on 4, 5 and 6 April.

The International Festival of Creativity, Art and Digital Design of Barcelona or, if you prefer, the OFFF is now in its twenty-fourth year and once again brings to the DHub facilities a host of great artists who have distinguished themselves in digital creation, have shown their talent in the field of design or are emerging talents that are worth getting to know.

OFFF was created in 2000 to showcase the work of creators, especially in the fields of design and digital arts. The festival brings together established names, but also pays special attention to emerging authors, whose talent it seeks to promote. Here you will find workshops, master classes, but also design markets and exhibition activities. In total there will be around seventy professionals from different fields participating in the event.

Do you want names? Don’t miss Timothy Goodman doing a music and mural painting performance; come and meet digital artists such as Joshua Davis, BUCK, Vallée Duhamel and Stephy Fun, or attend a talk with art director Stefan Sagmeister or illustrator Ben Tallon.

Do you know David Wilson? He is now considered one of the most creative directors of music videos, and yet he never went to film school. You can see him showing his queer side in a cabaret performance. Don’t leave yet, Sam Rolfes, artist and visionary of virtual reality, presents a project in 3D.

If you’re interested in emerging talent, however, you shouldn’t miss the presentations of The Next Us, where talented students from the main Catalan schools show the projects they have created, in an unrepeatable international showcase.

Spaces for conversation with a digital avatar, film projections such as the one that opens the festival on 4 April with a joint creation by Studio Mals, from Rotterdam (they design scenographies, make stop motion animation, film and photography, all handmade) and Setreset Films, also from Rotterdam, a creative video, animation and stop motion studio. Come and see the opening of the OFFF and you’ll find out what an incredible film has emerged from the combined efforts of all of them.

The activities, especially the workshops that are being organised, are payable, as is the final party on 6 April at La Nau, but you will find everything from free activities to tickets costing 322 euros, which, yes, will open the doors to all the activities of the OFF. Remember, however, that, as every year, the festival gives free access to the Fun Zone, located outside the DHub, where there are refreshment areas and you can watch the conferences and lectures broadcast live.

If you don’t want to miss the great festival of digital creativity, design and emerging talent, come to OFFF. Festival Internacional de Creativitat, Art i Disseny Digital de Barcelona, but first check out the full programme on their website.
