Between January 2025 and July 2026, new visual art proposals will be touring around three venues in the Barcelona Civic Centre Network. In addition, ‘Inventariables’, the new circuit of photographic exhibitions at civic centres, will be launched.

With the aim of creating actions and artistic experiences that engage the public in dialogue, the fourth edition of the Temporals programme includes new exhibition projects that deal with society’s relationship with digital technology, that question and challenge us about death, humanity, multiculturalism, the creation of mythologies, synaesthesia or the future of climate.

Each of these projects is enriched with different activities and experiences that require the essential involvement of groups, organisations and citizens. Bringing contemporary art to the neighbourhoods is one of the aims of Temporals.

Of the one hundred and forty-six entries received, the selection committee chose six in the individual category and three in the commissioned category. The catalogue of the fourth edition is made up of the project commissioned by Federica Matelli 7642 “siempre estaré para ti” , the proposal by Albert Gironès Aquella llum d’entre muntanyes, Boca i roca by Marc Larré, the exhibition Chimæra by Arash Fayez, the collective commissioned by FUGA. coop / Ona Bros Crono-poètiques del fred, the installation De esta carne nacerán flores by DU-DA, Noves vies by Valentina Gaia Lops, the project Poètiques de la follia commissioned by Angelica Tognetti and the proposal by Nathalie Rey Vivir bien. Morir bien.

Each Temporals 2025 exhibition project will pass through three of the participating facilities: CC Baró de Viver (Sant Andreu), CC Can Basté (Nou Barris), CC Convent de Sant Agustí (Ciutat Vella), CC Casinet d’Hostafrancs i CC Cotxeres de Sants (Sants – Montjuïc), CC Guinardó (Horta – Guinardó), CC Joan Oliver – Pere Quart (Les Corts), CC La Casa Elizalde (Eixample), CC La Farinera del Clot (Sant Martí), CC Navas (Sant Andreu), CC Pati Llimona (Ciutat Vella), CC Pere Pruna (Sarrià – Sant Gervasi) i CC Sant Andreu (Sant Andreu).

Inventariables, the new line of exhibitions

The Barcelona Civic Centre Network is launching a new line of exhibitions in collaboration with local institutions to showcase collections and collections from new perspectives. Between 2025 and 2026, the two exhibitions of Inventariables will be held in different centres, enriched with activities that encourage contemporary dialogue.

Entre la multitud (which can be seen at the CC La Farinera del Clot, CC La Casa Elizalde and CC Joan Oliver – Pere Quart) is a selection of documentary photographs by Jordi Pol kept at the Arxiu Fotogràfic de Barcelona. The images, which focus on Barcelona in the immediate post-transition period, become a first-rate historical source and confirm the dual nature of the photographic medium between creativity and archival documentation. The artist Joana Capella will take part in the exhibition.

On the other hand, Fundación MAPFRE is lending Retrats (which will pass through CC Baró de Viver, CC Can Basté and CC Navas), a collection of snapshots with images taken by Diane Arbus, Harry Callahan and Joan Colom, among others. This exhibition will feature the transdisciplinary visual artist Christina Schultz.
