Exhibition: “Child’s Play” at La Capella

Wednesday, 29 July 2020

La Capella is the space that the Barcelona Culture Institute devotes to emerging creation. In recent years, its work has focused on staging exhibitions with the aim of bringing to the public the most innovative proposals by the city’s artists. The central project in La Capella’s programme at the moment is Barcelona Producció, which was set up in 2006. Its aim is to foster the participation of artists and professionals in the sector, selected by an independent jury on the basis of public calls.

From Tuesday 21 July, visitors can enjoy the Child’s Play [Joc d’infants] exhibition by Lola Lasurt based on the retrospective Miró. Barcelona 1968-69, the first contemporary art show held at La Capella. Through a new series of paintings, videos and ceramics, Lasurt looks at the socio-political agitation of the late 1960s, using images related to childhood published in the national press during the three months of the state of emergency that was declared a few days after the Miró exhibition ended. More information.
