“100 Femmes” in the Teatre Grec

On Friday the 19th of July at 10pm, 100 women from Barcelona will take to the stage of the Teatre Grec in a unique world premiere

100 Femmes (100 Women) is a project of significant scope. A co-production of the Festival Grec 2013 and the Collectif Lyon 5.0, with the collaboration of Fabra i Coats Art Factory, the performance is based around three core concepts, namely, the theatrical production, the website, and the documentary film.

Following the premiere in the Teatre Grec on the 19th of July, the production will be represented on stages throughout the world. The project was conceived as a multi-disciplinary presentation and, aside from the text, includes a number of other artistic tendencies. Each representation will include images recorded in different cities.

The artistic and cultural expression of the production is further developed in the website and whoever so wishes can respond to the questions that the women are asked during the performances. The documentary, the final objective of the project, will be edited from material recorded during the rehearsals, making-of footage, interviews and performance clips.

With Angels Aymar as writer and director, one hundred women from Barcelona will, for the first time, partake in a unique experience in which they will have the opportunity to express their opinion on the current state of the world – a collective tale in which the symbolic concepts of creation, genesis and the origin of the universe play a significant role.

Barcelona Culture users may obtain invitations to the performance. More information here.
