48h Open House BCN is here again
More than 150 of the city’s buildings will open to the public free of charge on the 19th and 20th of October
On the weekend of the 19th and 20th of October the city itself will become the principal meeting point for architecture enthusiasts. During 48 hours more than 150 buildings of varying characteristics will open their doors, free of charge, to the general public.
The buildings represented include gothic, renaissance, modernist, rationalist, and contemporary styles and are distributed throughout the city with 28 of them located in Ciutat Vella, the district with the most representation, and 8 each in Horta-Guinardò, Les Corts, Nou Barris and Sant Andreu among others.

48h Open House BCN began in 2010 as part of an international event which began in London in 1992 and since then has seen a constant increase in the number of visitors and has extended to other cities such as New York, Dublin and Tel Aviv.
Santa Coloma is the festival’s guest city this year and 14 buildings in the neighbouring town have been added to the initiative, thereby transcending Barcelona’s city limits.
