AFRICA MOMENT’20, from the 3rd to the 20th of December

New releases in AFRICA MOMENT’20

The performing arts reunion returns with a three-pilar program between December 3 and 20.

The 4th edition of AFRICA MOMENT’20, which will be held from 3 to 20 December, comes with a program based on three pillars. The main one is the IV International Performing Arts’ Convention, which will take place from Thursday 10 at the Mercat de les Flors, the Filmoteca de Catalunya, the Hangar and El Graner. Both international and national artists of African American descent will take part in it, with dance as the main theme. Highlights include Elisabete Fernandes and Rosy Timas, and Trixie Munyama and Nesindano Namises, AM20 resident artists at El Graner. At the Filmoteca de Catalunya you can see the premiere of the documentary Kmêdeus that the director Nuno Miranda has made about the choreographic work of António Tavares, who he himself will represent on the stage of the Mercat de les Flors.

The second pillar of the AM20 is the MOMENT:ON, the online program that will connect with cities such as Accra, Cali and Quito to offer you exclusive dance shows, concerts, DJ sets and video creations by Africa Moment artists. In addition, the ‘creation | refletion | body’ program launches this year for body and/or word professionals. You can enjoy the performing arts and decolonial writing workshop with researcher Lucía Pedra and journalist Clàudia Brufau.

On the AFRICA MOMENT’20 Facebook channel you will find all the information you need to know about the meeting, as well as on the website of each of the participating spaces.
