Americana, American Independent Film Festival

American, despite everything

The American Independent Film Festival will premiere on March 2 with a hybrid line-up.

The Americana, the American Independent Film Festival, is back, and this year presents both face-to-face and virtual programming. The festival will open on Tuesday, March 2 at Cinema Phenomena with the film Driveways and will continue at Cinemes Girona, the Filmoteca de Catalunya and Zumzeig until March 7. The program includes titles such as Sweet Thing, Wilcox, Black Bear, Palm Springs, The Killing of Two Lovers, Shithouse, Shiva Baby and The Last Black Man in San Francisco, between a total of 47 features and 29 shortfilms of this edition.

The festival consists of three different sections: on one hand, TOPS, the top section, where you will find the aforementioned selection; second, NEXT, which includes titles such as Night of the Kings and Summertime; there is also DOCS, the documentary section, with pieces like Feels Good Man and Assassins; and finally, the short section, which is divided into three sessions where you will see Low-key, High Card and Uproot. As a novelty, this edition has the ‘Discoveries’ section, films that have already been on the festival and that cannot be seen on any other distribution platforms.

Tickets cost 7 euros and short sessions, 4 euros, and you can buy them here. At Filmin you will find a total of 23 features and more than 20 shorts and up to 13 more in Premium, which will be available from the 2nd to the 14th of March.
