A great weekend for art and art galleries

Barcelona Gallery Weekend is celebrating its third edition from September 28 to October 1 with an extensive program.

Art lovers and fans, collectors and artists, take note of the date: from 28 September to 1 October, the third edition of Barcelona Gallery Weekend (BGW) will once again offer the ideal opportunity to get to know the city's leading art galleries, as well as for exploring installations in iconic settings, exhibitions and other activities.

This year's edition sees the participation of 23 galleries from Barcelona and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, featuring the work of Alberto Peral, Lluís Blanc, Jordi Colomer, Martha Rosler, Sergio Prego and Esteban Vicente, among others. On of the novelties of this edition is a programme aimed at encouraging foundations and private companies to buy at least one of the works on display during the four days of the event. The entities that are collaborating with this edition include Blueproject Foundation, Fundació Vila Casas and Cuatrecasas.

With regard to outdoor artistic interventions, these will take place at Carrer Nou de la Rambla 175, at the Monumental Cascade in Ciutadella Park, at Diputació 7, and in Carrer Salvadors in l'Hospitalet de Llobregat. Places such as the former Massana School, the Ocaña and the Palace Hotel, among others, will also host exhibitions that make up part of the third edition ofBGW. Finally, take note that the ARCO Foundation organizes guided visits to participating galleries with the aim of bringing the work of artists closer to the public and promotingthe galleries that take part in the event. To participate in these guided tours you have to sign up in advance.

La BGW is organised by Art Barcelona, the Associació de Galeries d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona. Additional information is available at the following link.
