Arts Libris enters its sixth edition

The International Contemporary Publishing Fair will take place in the Arts Santa Mònica from the 23rd to the 26th of April will more than seventy exhibitors and focussing on artists’ books, photo-books and contemporary bibliophilism

Coinciding, as usual, with St, George’s Day, from the 23rd to the 26th of April the arts centre Arts Santa Mònica will host the sixth edition of Arts Libris, The International Contemporary Publishing Fair which, this year, extends its cultural programme, consolidating its status as a prestigious platform for production, dissemination and exchange among publishers. This year’s fair, with more than seventy local and international exhibitors, will focus on artists’ books, photo-books and contemporary bibliophilism as well as other related areas such as the diverse range of printed matter created by artists in the 20th and 21st centuries.

One of the novelties this year is that Arts Libris will initiate its own collection of artists’ books with the release of number 0 featuring Iñaki Bonillas. The fair will also feature a new space entitled Speaker’s Corner, where authors and publishing professionals can both explain their projects to those wishing to listen as well as exchange ideas.

The fair will also host the 2nd International Symposium on Publishing and Collectionism and two exhibitions will be inaugurated as part of the framework for the event, on the one hand, Unseen Jessica Lange, with photographs by the North American actress and, on the other, This is the cover of the book, a collective exhibition that begins with the work of conceptual artist George Brecht.
