"Babet, cuina a tres veus" (Babet, cuisine for three voices)

From the 4th to the 14th of July the Círcol Maldà is hosting a musical theatre performance in which three women, a pianist, a kitchen and a corpse share the same stage

Up until the 14th of July, the Círcol Maldà is hosting the theatrical work Babet, cuina a tres veus, which tells the story of four friends who, ten years previously, dreamt of opening a restaurant and who have now reunited at the funeral of one of them who has died in peculiar circumstances.

With the musical accompaniment of pianist Òscar Peñarroya, who is also the musical director, the work is a musical theatre piece that combines mystery, humour, fantasy, cooking and jazz, which is present in the form of standards translated to Catalan and sung in three voices.
 
The script, as well as the original idea, the direction and the production are all at the hands of the Trio Les Cot Company. The piece focuses on the past, the present and the broken dreams of the central characters and is directed by Anna Ponces, who also acts, alongside Maria Viñas and Èlia Corral.
