Barcelona Districte Cultural’s new format

The local culture circuit takes artists closer to audiences through online artistic workshops.

Barcelona Districte Cultural, the city’s local culture circuit, will be resuming its activity this Thursday with a digital programme for people to enjoy the festival from home.

Barcelona Districte Cultural is launching a series of artistic workshops through its social media, featuring artists who have had to postpone their performances: you will be able to attend dance classes and enjoy juggling and acrobatics, music tips and chats.

The first activities on the programme notably include workshops from Jose Manuel Álvarez, the ballaor [flamenco dancer] who had been performing on the Barcelona Districte Cultural stage with Movimiento colateral and will be offering a class on how to dance the rumba; Laia Santanach, the dancer and choreographer who was meant to present the show Àer and will be explaining the “contrapàs”, a dance she deconstructs in her show, and Adrià Olay, a playwright and the director of the work El mal morir, performed by the Fil vermell company, who will be offering a workshop on mourning. There will be other workshops from companies such as Circ Vermut, The Feliuettes, Mireia Miracle, Impro Barcelona and Anna Colom.

The organisers are continuing their work to offer more activities from home so artists and audiences can get together during these difficult times. If you'd like to stay up to date with the latest developments, we recommend you follow them on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.
