The Barcelona Guitar Orchestra

Dozens of guitarists on stage at Palau de la Música

The Barcelona Guitar Orchestra will play classic pieces accompanied by other instruments.

The Barcelona Guitar Orchestra was created more than 25 years ago, and thanks to its impeccable artistic jtrajectory is now considered to be one of the best of formation of its type. Sergi Vicente, senior professor at the Conservatory of the Liceu of Barcelona, is both the founder and the current director of the formation. Thanks to him and to the talent of the musicians who make up the orchestra (who are all graduates of the Superior Conservatory of Music of the Liceu in Barcelona), the formation has been able to take their music to destinatons in Spain, Cuba, Russia, Italy and the United States. Their repertoire is the result of an intense process of research and adaptation because many of the pieces they play have never been interpreted in this way before. They are now set to offer a concert featuring Baroque and contemporary music (especially Spanish music) at the Palau de la Música Catalana on two dates that promise to satisfy all music lovers. The concert will feature pieces by Vivaldi, Albeniz, Bach, De Falla and Boccherini, among others.

The concerts will take place on 21 July 21 and 15 August at 9 pm at the Palau de la Música Catalana. The guitarists in the orchestra will be accompanied by a violinist, a clavichordist and a dancer.
