The Barcelona Obertura Spring Festival is back, and it will be held in March.

After the success of the last two years, here is a new edition of the Barcelona Obertura Spring Festival, the festival that brings you the best classical music in the world, organised by the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau de la Música Catalana and L’Auditori with the support of Barcelona City Council. In addition to the concerts that will take place in these spaces, free performances will also be organised in different locations in the city, such as the Sagrada Família, the Casa Batlló, the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion and the MACBA, among others. The festival will begin on March 5 with the Concert of Slavonic and Hungarian dances by the Orquestra Simfònica del Gran Teatre del Liceu and will close the program on March 28 with the adaptation of Verdi’s Otello by the Orquestra Simfònica and the Cor del Gran Teatre del Liceu.

The program includes events such as the opera Lessons in Love and Violence, the concerts Simfonia Zero, Utopia and El Concierto de Aranjuez, and various concertists and ensembles, such as pianists Grigory Sokolov and Daniil Trifonov, the Cuartet Quiroga, the SWR Symphony Orchestra of Stuttgart, Café Zimmermann, the Ensemble Pygmalion & Pichon and the Jove Capella Reial de Catalunya.
