Singer-songwriter Pilmaiquén, who will perform at Barnasants on 30 January

Barnasants is celebrating 25 years with around 100 concerts

Pepet i Marieta, Feliu Ventura, Joan Amèric, Ginestà, Ovidi 25 and Tomeu Penya on the line-up.

A special concert by Francesc Pi de la Serra on 10 January was the prelude to the Barnasants festival running for 25 years now, set to start officially on 24 January with the presentation of the project and recital by Ovidi 25 at Cotxeres de Sants. Also, given that the festival has been running for 25 years now, it’s also been 25 years since we lost Ovidi Montllor or, as he liked to say to his friends and fans, he went off on holiday. The show, which will later be toured through various Catalan town and Manacor, also as part of the festival, is the offspring of Ovidi3 and Ovidi4,  and of course, it will contain songs and poems by Ovidi Montllor, organised by David Fernàndez, Borja Penalba, Mireia Vives and David Caño.

As usual, the line-up for Barnasants will also focus on many other acts – this year there will be around a hundred – mostly in Barcelona but also in other Catalan-speaking towns and cities. All this bringing together artists with a huge career behind them and younger ones. Just focussing on what’s going on in Barcelona, there will be concerts in venues such as Harlem Jazz Club, Luz de Gas, L'Auditori, La Lleialtat Santsenca, Centre Artesà Tradicionàrius and Casinet d'Hostafrancs, as well as many more. Singer-songwriter fans can enjoy concerts by Pilmaiquén (30 January), Ángel Petisme (31 January), Joan Amèric (1 February), Pepet i Marieta + Xanguito (6 February), Feliu Ventura (8 February), Ginestà (20 February), El Niño de la Hipoteca (14 and 15 March) and Tomeu Penya (3 April), to name but a few.

You can find the entire line-up here.
