Animayo

The best of Animayo at CaixaForum

A selection of the best works from the Aniymo animated film, visual effects and videogame festival

Animayo, an international festival focussed on animated film, visual effects and videogames is one of the biggest events of the year in its sector. Founded in the Canary Islands by producer and director Damián Perea, it has become a top event for new talent and creativity. Last year’s edition saw 15,000 participants and 24 international guests and gave a number of important prizes and financial aids to production companies. Now, a selection of the best works in the festival can be seen in Barcelona at CaixaForum.

On 13 and 14 January, Animayo Barcelona 2017 will feature a number of screenings, along with special workshops that aim to raise awareness of the disciplines that are the focus of the festival. An example of that is the workshop aimed at young people that wish to learn more about the design and creation of 3-D videogames.

Among the highlights of the works to be screened is a showcase of special pieces of animated film by independent international artists and schools. Another high point is the conference Com treballar en postproducció per arribar als Oscars by Palme d’Or winner and director of the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival Toni Mena, who will be speaking about the history of anime. You will find the complete programme here.
