The best films of the year at the Filmoteca
The selection has been made by a number of Catalan film critics
A selection of the best films of the year, chosen by a number of Catalan film critics, can be seen at the Filmoteca de Catalunya from 4 January to 16 February. The films to be screened are those considered to be the best from all of the titles released from 30 October 2015 to 30 October 2016 and make up a balance of artier, minority interest films and titles made to entertain the general public.
Included in the selection are films like Spotlight, Son of Saul, Carol, which will be introduced by Imma Merino, and Mia Madre. This cycle was first staged by the Filmoteca de Catalunya in 20014 and since then has grown to include critics from ten top film-related publications in Catalonia, including Fotogramas, Dirigido Por, Caimán Cuadernos de Cine and La Vanguardia. It offers an excellent opportunity to see again some of the best recent films.
