BioBlitzBcn 2013

The next 19th and 20th of April the Parc del Laberint d'Horta will host an essential event to explore the biodiversity of Barcelona.

Once again, the participation of all citizens will contribute to provide knowledge about the biodiversity of the city with the BioBlitzBcn 2013, an intense period of biological surveying in an attempt to record all the living species in the area, with the participation of all those with an interest in urban nature accompanied by trained naturalists.

The project, led by specialists in different biological groups, arrives to its fourth edition after three consecutive years of research. This year, the Parc del Laberint d'Horta will replace the Montjuïc gardens, returning to the area already explored in 2010 when the project started.

On friday 19 the morning will be devoted to schools, and from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening it will be open to all citizens. The biological surveying will accompany other leisure activities, such as exhibitions and workshops, to give everyone an opportunity to participate in biodiversity research.

Through the hashtag #BioBlitzBcn you can be up to date to all the news from BioBlitzBcn and collaborate to promote the initiative.

The activities are free and prior registration is required.
