Birds and plants in the Botanical Garden

The Natural Science Museum of Barcelona has organised three activities to learn about the species that inhabit the Botanical Garden.

If you are interested in learning about botany and the birds that inhabit Montjuic, the Natural Science Museum of Barcelona has organized three sessions for 23 and 30 April, which combine a more theoretical part with a more practical one, to introduce you to these subjects in the Botanical Garden of Barcelona.

With the arrival of spring, nature shows its best colours and begins to bloom. The Basic Botany activity, which will take place on 30 April, it is an opportunity to get to know the plant world in a three-and-a-half hour session in which you will learn about morphology, classification, plant evolution and ecology. You will also learn how to recognize the types of leaves, the parts of flowers, the formation of fruits, etc.

Likewise, April is also a very good time to observe birds, as migratory species from Africa occupy their preferred breeding sites and, during these next few months, you can even hear their mating songs. In order to make the most of this time, two activities are planned: Birdwatching on 23 April from 11 am to 1 pm, in which you will discover which birds are permanent guests and what they are and The chirping of spring, on 30 April from 6 pm to 7.30 pm, in which you will find out which birds inhabit the Garden and learn how to identify them.

A great opportunity to get to know the Barcelona Botanical Garden better and spend the day surrounded by nature.
