The façade of Casa Vicens

Casa Vicens opens its doors to visitors

This building, which was designed by Antoni Gaudí, will be open for visits from 16 November.

Located from number 18 to number 24 of Carrer de les Carolines in the Gràcia neighbourhood, Casa Vicens has functioned as a private residence for 120 years. But now, following a series of restoration projects, it's set to open its doors to visitors. So, from 16 November on, the house can be visited from Monday to Sunday every day of the year except for 25 December and 1 and 6 January.

Casa Vicens was the first residential building designed by Antoni Gaudí. It was commissioned by Manuel Vicens i Montaner as a summer residence and Gaudí prsented him with his initial blueprints in 1883. The family started to use the house five years later. The house that Gaudí designed for them was on four floors, with a basement, two residential floors and an attic. The eye-catching façade is in the Catalan modernist style with oriental touches.

Visits can be carried out individual or as part of a guided tour and tickets are now on sale.
