The Chicago Mass Choir, in the Palau de la Musica

The choir will offer a repertoire of Christmas classics on the 11th of December

Chicago Mass Choir, arrive in Barcelona with Singing Gospel Christmas, a performance in which Christmas melodies take centre stage, offering a handful of classics such as “Silent Night” and “Oh Happy Day!” The choir was founded in Chicago in 1988 by James C. Chambers, who also founded the Ecclesiastes Community Choir.

Their debut album was released in 1991, the same year they were voted Best New Artist in the Gospel Music Excellence Awards, the premiere awards in the genre. The following year they were presented with the Song of the Year award for “I Can Go to the Rock”.

Barcelona outfit Twocats pel Gospel, with a career spanning more than a decade, will complete the evening.

The performance by The Chicago Mass Choir will inaugurate the 15th edition of Els Grans del Gospel (Gospel Greats), the gospel and choral festival of Catalonia, which will offer recitals in various locations throughout the city up until the 29th of December.
