Pianist Ignasi Terraza and singer Randy Greer

Jamboree is celebrating Christmas to the rhythm of swing

Randy Greer and Ignasi Terraza are introducing the album Around the Christmas Tree on the 24th and 25th.

As per usual, Jamboree will be celebrating Christmas to the rhythm of swing music. On 24 and 25 December, there will be double sessions — at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. — in which Barcelona-based American singer Randy Greer and pianist Ignasi Terraza will present a fitting work for the holidays: Around the Christmas Tree.

Greer will be accompanied by the Terraza trio, made up of Horacio Fumero (bass) and Esteve Pi (drums), who in 2012 recorded the album Barcelona swing, swing, swing with Cor Vivaldi. Together they will offer a repertoire of well-known Christmas melodies and traditional songs that are part of the collective imagination but passed through the musical sieve of jazz, blues and gospel.

In addition, Greer and Terraza will perform their own Christmas carols, including Christmas Time in Barcelona, No More Lockdown or Cole for Christmas. All of them are songs with a lot of swing and ballads full of feelings, with a markedly festive and optimistic character – as is fitting for such an important time of the year. The two artists, who are good friends, have been working together for over twenty years, and both share a devotion to Nat King Cole.

Tickets are 20 € and can be bought through this link. As has become usual at Jamboree, the venue offers the possibility of enjoying the 10 p.m. concerts from home via streaming for only 5 € euros through this link.
