Circus and poetry to conclude Nits al Castell

Castell de Montjuïc is closing the event on 19 and 26 June with two different proposals.

June is a month of culture at Castell de Montjuïc. With Nits al Castell, the Parade Grounds of the Castle becomes an interdisciplinary stage with many different proposals, and you still have two more chances to enjoy two before the event concludes. On Saturday, 19 June, the circus is making a stop at the Castle's stage with Pals, a contemporary circus show by the Cíclicus company and directed by Leandro Mendoza Artagagaveitia. Pals tells the story of a travelling circus troupe that has lost one of its members. To experience the mourning collectively, the members of the company pay tribute to the artist through some ashes that represent his metamorphosis. The ritual homage to their friend is made up of all kinds of inventions that constantly suggest the concepts of change and transformation.

To close off the cycle, on Saturday, 26 June, the Poetry Slam, an agile and dynamic poetry competition where both poets and public hold leading roles, will return. The concept of slam poetry refers to the staging of poetry by the author themself and is considered a new literary genre. One of the most important elements of this type of performance poetry is the interaction with the audience, as it creates a sense of community between both parties, which is essential to the genre. For this reason, you should keep in mind that going to the Poetry Slam is not only about listening but also laughing, clapping and sharing your excitement.

Both activities are free of charge, but seating is limited, so you need to book your spot at this link.
