A video game wins the City of Barcelona Award for Audiovisuals and Digital Culture

És Endling - Extinction is Forever, while in the Arts Visuals category the 'FOC' project wins.

For the first time, the Ciutat de Barcelona Audiovisual and Digital Culture Awards have awarded a video game. The jury, made up of Eduard Solà (president), Pere Freixa Font, Carlos Rodríguez Ríos, Sílvia Comet and Alba G. Corral, unanimously decided to honour Endling - Extinction is Forever. The verdict highlights its visual and sound quality at the service of a sensitive and emotional story. It also mentions "the success of placing climate change, environmentalism and even care at the centre of the narrative and thus incorporating them into the world of video games". The jury considers Endling - Extinction is Forever to be an "outstanding example of the maturity of video game creation in Barcelona with international recognition".

The Ciutat de Barcelona Award for Visual Arts was also announced. In this category, the award went to the project "FOC", promoted by Córdova, Jokko Collective and Cchhoorro. The jury, made up of Lucía Piedra Galarraga (president), Marta Sesé, David Armengol, Francesca Llopis and Adrian Schindler, valued its capacity to materialise a change of paradigm in the visual arts through interdisciplinary relations, "becoming a place where anti-racist, queer and intergenerational lines of thought and action converge".

The Ciutat de Barcelona Prizes, awarded by Barcelona City Council, are worth €9,500 and will be presented on 15 February at a ceremony in the Saló de Cent.
