The mezzo-soprano Kimiyo Nakako, who will perform in the Reial Acadèmia on 14 April

Every Tuesday, classical music fills the Reial Acadèmia

The concerts are characterised by the variety of artists and composers.

The 2020 winter and spring programme of Clàssica a la Reial Acadèmia is well underway, meaning that every Tuesday evening you can listen to live music in the Conference Hall of the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi - Casa Llotja. The programme will run until 28 April, and although the recitals are grouped together under ‘Clàssica’, the concerts stand out for their variety. The audience will have the chance to listen to compositions written by Bach, Schubert, Toldrà, Haydn, Albéniz, Granados, Piazzolla, Tchaikovsky and Mozart, among many others.

There will also be a varied combination of artists on stage. For example, on Tuesday 3 March the concert of Bach’s most intimate music will be performed by the soprano Susanna Crespo and the harpsichordist Eduard Martínez; on 31 March the recital will be given by Antoni Serra playing the transverse flute and Ayako Fujiki on the piano, who will offer an evening with Schubert’s music. The last concert will be on 28 April and it will consist of a four-handed piano performance by Albert Colomar and Elisabeth Vera, who will play compositions by Mozart, Schubert, Ligeti and Rachmaninov. On 14 April, the Japanese mezzo-soprano Kimiyo Nakako and the guitarist Manel Sànchez will interpret pieces by Granados, Albéniz, Joaquín Rodrigo and Manuel de Falla. A week later it will be the turn of Duo Mestral, formed by Josep Mas (saxophone) and Laura Casas (piano), who will offer a concert of music by Eduard Toldrà, Francis Poulenc, Joan Albert Amargós and William Albright.

All the recitals start at 8.00 pm. Click here to find out all the details of the programme.
