The renewal of fado, on stage

Lina and Raül Refree present their first cooperative work at L'Auditori.

The Portuguese singer Lina and the Catalan producer and multi-instrumentalist Raül Refree released, at the beginning of this 2020, their first collaborative album, Lina_ Raül Refree, considered by critics as a work of new approach and renewal of fado. An amazing record, in which they have revisited songs by Amália Rodrigues with analogue synthesizers and pianos. On December 4, they will take to the stage of L'Auditori with this ground-breaking proposal, in which, of course, fados maintain the beauty of the melodies and the painful poetry of the words.

They explain that Refree discovered Lina's voice by hearing her sing at the Clube de Fado de Lisboa. The singer specializes in the songs by Amália Rodrigues, whose centenary is being commemorated precisely this year, but sought to make a major change in the covers. Therefore, it was immediately clear that meeting the Catalan producer will bring something great. Refree is considered one of today's most innovative producers and, in addition to his solo career, he has worked with artists such as Rosalía, Lee Renaldo and Sílvia Pérez Cruz.

Now that the album has been available for months, it's time to find out what this live duet sounds like. If you want to buy tickets, click on this link.
