Connexions, second edition

The series proposes musical dialogs in the Apolo from the 12th of October to the 17th of November

Last autumn the record label and promoter Bankrobber initiated a provocative series of staged musical encounters under the title Taller de Músics Connexions (Connections Musical Workshop). The initiative was well received and will be repeated this year in the Apolo, with the Nou de la Rambla venue as co-organiser.

The series consists of six evening performances between the 12th of October and the 17th of November in which, once again, stylistic prejudices will be left aside and will include such diverse genres as folk (Isaac Ulam & Jose Domingo and Víctor Herrero & Josephine Foster), intimist pop de auteur (Nico Roig & Maria Monferrer), blues (Big Mama & Espen Fjelle & Spoonful of Blues & Allstars Music Workshop), indo-jazz (Om Tara Project & Supratik Sengupta), flamenco fused with chamber music (Kiko Veneno & Cordes del Món) or free psychedelia with a punk spirit (Zea & Esperit!).

Ulam and Domingo have been selected to inaugurate the series on the 12th with a presentation of their joint release, Temple d’aigua i llum (Temple of water and light). Accompanied by five musicians they will be playing selections from their latest release which contains pieces with the unmistakeable air of popular folk songs and arrangements typical of Jotas, Habaneras and popular work songs.
