The Cruilla Barcelona Festival returns to the Parc del Fòrum

Suede, Snoop Dogg and Cat Power are among the most sought-after acts in the sixth edition of the music festival, which will take place on the 5th and 6th of June

Each edition of the Cruilla Barcelona Festival serves to further consolidate the event as one of the city’s most important festivals thanks to the eclectic, non-discriminatory nature of its proposals.

This year’s line-up includes established artists such as Rufus Wainwright, who will be performing to the sole accompaniment of his piano, as well as Goran Bregovich, Billy Bragg, Wyclef Jean, Cat Power and Morcheeba, among many others.

Those others include Suede. Alongside Blur and Oasis, the band led by Brett Anderson was one of the principle representatives of Brit Pop in the 90s, and will combining massive hits such as “Trash” and “The Beautiful Ones” with songs from their latest record, Bloodsport.

Rapper Snoop Dogg will be bringing his special brand of festive hip hop with Jamaican influences.

Other highlights were to include Toots & The Maytals, the seminal Jamaican ska and reggae band, but unfortunately the band has had to cancel their European tour.

The organisation, however, have announced the signing of guitarist Ernest Ranglin who, despite being an artist who has earned the admiration of reggae fans, has rarely been seen in these parts, so the concert promises to be a surprise and a revelation for many attendees.

Another artist who will be bringing his frenetic rhythms and energetic sounds to the Parc del Fòrum is the up and coming star of New Orleans funk, Trombone Shorty.

Other performers who have recently confirmed appearances at the festival are Tego Calderón, from the Dominican Republic, Fermín Muguruza, from the Basque country, or the Catalan band, Standstill.
