Cruïlla in autumn

In Autumn it’s also time for Cruïlla!

Concerts of all kinds will be on offer in October and November.

The Cruïlla Festival is well-known for being one of the major summer music festivals, with concerts by high quality artists of international renown (names like Jack White, The Roots and Prophets of Rage all spring to mind), alongside local talent  from the Catalan scene (La Pegatina, Joan Dausà and Els Catarres, for example). But in fact the action in the festival extends beyond the summer and for 15 days in October and November, we’ll have the chance to see concerts that are sure to enjoyed by fans of indie, punk, Catalan pop music and gipsy and Balkan music.

The concerts will take place from 14 October to 1 November at Razzmatazz, Poble Espanyol and Sala Bikini. The opening shots will come from indie-rocker Anna Calvi, who will be followed on 18 October with a feast of Balkan music featuring Emir Kusturica, The No Smoking Orchestra and the Barcelona Gipsy Balkan Orchestra. Then, on 19 October, we’ll have the chance to listen to the soul of Myles Sanko and The Excitements. The concerts are set to continue with appearances by La M.O.D.A. and Animal on 20 October and the next day, by Viva Suecia and Neuman. 25 October sees a performance by MGMT, the kings of electronic pop with 80s airs. On 31 October Mafalda and Tremenda Jauría will share the stage for the festival’s most combative night. To close the festival on 1 November, Cat Power will be playing her folk and soul sounds.

Tickets can now be bought from €15 to €32.50 at the following link.
