The curtain goes up for the Atlántida Film Fest

A total of 37 films make up the programme for the festival, which continues up until the 22nd of April via the online film platform Filmin

For the third year running the Filmin platform, one of the pioneers in the legal offering of films via internet, offers the possibility of enjoying a film festival experience without leaving home. Already consolidated as one of the benchmark online film festivals on an international level, the Atlántida Film Fest  kicks off on the 22nd of March with a truly first class programme which is divided into two sections: The Official Section (films made in Spain and Latin America) and the Atlas Section (gems from other festivals).

The Official Section consists of 17 productions, all of which are vying for the Best Film award. First up is the powerful Post Tenebras Lux, by the Mexican director Carlos Reygadas, the winner of the Best Director award in the last edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Other films, such as Mi Loco Erasmus, Carlo Padial’s post-humour comedy in the guise of a false documentary and Your Lost Memories, by Alejandro Marzo and Miguel Ángel Blanca (both members of the band Manos de Topo) complete a programme that also includes prize-winning films from the Venice, Berlin and San Sebastian festivals.

The Atlas Section, on the other hand, kicks off with the much-awaited documentary by Michel Gondry, The We and the I. Among this eclectic selection we can also highlight the disturbing Greek film Boy Eating the Bird’s Food, the suspenseful proposal of Sarah Polley, Stories We Tell, All Good Things, with Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst, or Like Someone in Love, the latest offering from Abbas Kiarostami. It will also be possible to see other films that were shown to critical acclaim in Sitges 2012, such as Wrong, Berberian Sound Studio and Compliance.
