“Discover the 10 Barcelonas”, in the Sala Ciutat

The collaborative photographic exhibition explores the least known and more unique locations throughout the city’s ten districts and can be seen up until the 12th of September

The Sala Ciutat is currently presenting the legacy of Barcelona’s 10 districts in an exhibition entitled Discover the 10 Barcelones, that explores a series of unique locations throughout the city which, for geographical or historical reasons, have remained relatively unknown. The objective of the exhibition, then, is to divulge some of the city’s less topical and least known features and to explore some of the hidden gems around the city that are as unusual as they are unique.

The exhibition consists of roughly 100 photographs that have been incorporated into the Wikipedia photographic collection and which have their origins in a mobile phone photography competition organised especially for the occasion and for which 3128 photographs were presented. Of these, eleven photographs depicting the least conventional vision of the city were selected for each district. The exhibition also includes a series of images of Barcelona by renowned ‘Instagrammer’, Thomas Kakareko.

Discover the 10 Barcelones is organised by the Barcelona City Council and the mobile photography project space, D-IVE, and can be seen from the 10th of July to the 12th of September in the Sala Ciutat. Entry is free and more information is available here.
