'Ouaga Girls': the Docs Barcelona Documentary of the Month

The film tells the exciting story of a group of women in Burkina Faso who want to become mechanics.

The idea behind the Documentary of the Month, a cycle organized by Docs Barcelona, is to give the public access to high quality films that do not normally make it to our screens. February’s pick is  Ouaga Girls by Theresa Traoré Dahlberg, which tells the story of a group of women in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, who are studying with the aim of becoming car mechanics. They form a group marked by ties of friendship that are as strong as those of a family. However, their aspirations contrast with the values held and options offered by the society around them.

The award-winning documentary film Ouaga Girls will be screened on 7, 13, 14, 17, 19, 25 and 28 February at diverse venues throughout the city, including cinemas, theatres or civic centres.

Ticket prices vary depending on the specific venue. Additional information is available at the following link.
