El Molino hosts the IV Burlesque Festival
From the 7th to the 10th of May, genre artists will take to the stage to present performances replete with glamour, sauciness and sensuality
The Burlesque Festival returns to Barcelona. In this fourth edition, El Molino will once again play host to local and international burlesque stars who have forged a name for themselves in Paris, London, Berlin and New York, and who combine satire and entertainment in the most genuine fashion imaginable.
The festival inauguration on Wednesday the 7th of May at 9.30 pm will initiate three days of performances full of satire, entertainment and sensuality in a festive tribute to a genre derived from a combination of music-hall and vaudeville which became popular during the 1920s and 30s.
With their surprising acrobatics, burlesque starlets such as Miss Banbury Cross, also known as “the Marilyn of Burlesque”, the mysterious Lili M., or the original Oxitoxica, will delight audiences with their unique performances. The four days of the festival will also see performances by Team Molino with the participation of mistress of ceremonies, Juli Bellot, and warm welcomes by El Molino’s vedette par excellence, Merche Mar.
Barring Wednesday the 7th there will be two performances each evening at 6.30 pm and 9.30 pm. Tickets are available either at the theatre or via social networks and there is also the possibility of acquiring a “pack” that includes typical burlesque attire such as a pasties, feather pompom and garter.
